Each judge has been carefully selected for their proven track record of excellence, integrity, and their contributions to the advancement of pharmacy practice.

Ronan Sheridan MPSI, MPharm (Chairperson)
Ronan graduated from The Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, in 2009 with a Masters in Pharmacy with Distinction. Ronan took over as MD of Magners Pharmacy in summer 2023. He is involved in pharmacist CPD and pharmacy technician training, through the IPU. He has been involved in the Pharmacy Benevolent Fund for over 10 years.

Dr. Caitriona Bradley
Dr. Catriona Bradley currently works as the Executive Director of the Irish Institute of Pharmacy. She is a pharmacist, a psychologist, a personal and executive coach, and also holds diplomas in law and quality improvement. Over the past 20 years she has held leadership positions in a range of settings including community pharmacy, international retail and healthcare businesses, academia, capability development, and regulation. She is an adjunct associate professor in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Trinity College Dublin, an External Advisory board member of the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences in RCSI, a member of the Counsellors and Psychotherapists Registration Board of CORU, and an international committee member for the Life Long Learning in Pharmacy International Conference.

Ciarán Rooney
Ciarán Rooney graduated from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen in 2010. After graduating he completed his pre-registration training in Edinburg Royal Infirmary. He then returned to Ireland and began working in community pharmacy as a locum, From 2012 – 2015 Ciarán working in Allcare Pharmacy as a support pharmacist. He then joined the team in haven Pharmacy in 2015 as the supervising pharmacist. He took over the ownership of Haven Pharmacy McAleers in 2019.

Emily Kelly
Emily is a qualified pharmacist, with extensive senior management and board-level experience across Ireland, Italy, and Belgium. She currently serves on the board of Life Pharmacy and practices as a community pharmacist with McCauley. Emily is also a member of the IIOP Mentorship Steering Group, a peer support pharmacist, and a member of the IPU Employee and Executive Committee, reflecting her strong commitment to leadership, mentorship, and professional advocacy in the pharmacy sector.

Maeve Hynes
Maeve Hynes is a pharmacist working in the hospital sector. She graduated from the University of Brighton in 2010. She has experience in both the hospital and community setting with a particular interest in the safe and cost effective procurement of medicines. Her current role in the HSE Access and Integration Drug Management Programme enables hospitals to undertake competitive procurement processes for medicines achieving best value and securing the supply chain.

Dr. Maura Kinahan
Dr. Maura Kinahan is a registered pharmacist who has spent her career to-date in various roles in the pharmaceutical industry (Pharmaceutical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Commercial Operations, Medical Affairs) with Élan, Bristol-Myers Squibb & Pfizer.
Maura is a founding member of Pharmacists in Industry, Education, Regulatory (PIER) which represents the interests of non-patient facing pharmacists, leading on career and mentorship activities.
She holds a pharmacy degree from the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow), Ph.D. from the University of Manchester and is a fellow of BioInnovate Ireland.

Paula Reilly
Paula Reilly is a community pharmacist based in Longford. She graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2006 before completing a masters in community pharmacy. Since then Paula has had a number of roles including supervising pharmacist, Teacher Practitioner and working with the IPU Academy, IIOP and the IPU executive committee. She is currently a pharmacy owner in Longford town and is optimistic about the future role of the community pharmacist.

Gráinne Henson
Gráinne Henson, a registered nurse, has 30 plus years’ experience of health service management and delivery across private and public sectors, both here and in the UK. In her role as Head of Health Sector, she focuses on supporting customers, through providing expert understanding of the sector, the post-pandemic challenges and the opportunities for health service providers.

Áine Martin
Áine graduated from Liverpool John Moores University in 2012. She is currently the Head of Retail Sales at McCabes Pharmacy Ltd, overseeing a network of 110 pharmacies. Áine is also a former Gold Award winner in the Pharmacist-Led Team category. . Driven by a strong passion for excellence in community pharmacy, she is dedicated to fostering innovation, enhancing patient care, and demonstrating effective leadership.

Eimhear Reilly

Dr. Conor McCrystal
Conor is a pharmacist with over 30 years of experience spanning community practice, academia, and the pharmaceutical industry. As a pharmacy owner for more than 20 years, he has developed a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the profession, with a particular passion for the vital role of community pharmacy.
Alongside extensive retail practice, Conor holds a PhD and has worked in research & development in both academia and the pharmaceutical industry and as a former teacher practitioner brings both practical and educational perspectives to the profession. Conor holds qualifications in both Health Care Management and Law and has extensive experience in healthcare law, governance and professional regulation. Conor is a member of the Professional Conduct Committee of the PSI and is a member of the Monitoring Committee and the Fitness to Practice Committee of the Medical Council of Ireland.
A strong advocate for extending the role of the pharmacist, Conor is committed to championing innovation and advancing the future of pharmacy.

Ramy Seraphim
Ramy Seraphim MPSI, MSc Health Economics
Ramy is a community- based pharmacist and the Superintendent Pharmacist for Uniphar-owned pharmacies, including Allcare, Hickey’s, McCauley, and Life Pharmacies. He brings over 15 years of experience across community pharmacy and regulatory environments, both in Ireland and internationally.
He holds a master’s degree in health economics, combining clinical expertise with strategic insight to drive high standards in patient-centered care, regulatory compliance, and governance. Ramy is committed to the advancement of the pharmacy profession through education and mentorship. He has served as an APPEL preceptor since the programme’s inception, playing a role in the training and professional development of future pharmacists.
