Ronan Sheridan MPSI, MPharm (Chairperson)

Ronan graduated from The Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, in 2009 with a Masters in Pharmacy with Distinction. Ronan took over as MD of Magners Pharmacy in summer 2023. He is involved in pharmacist CPD and pharmacy technician training, through the IPU. He has been involved in the Pharmacy Benevolent Fund for over 10 years.

Ade Stack

Ade Stack is the Managing Director and Superintendent Pharmacist of Stacks Pharmacy, a role she has held since 2000. Under her leadership, Stacks Pharmacy has grown into a nationwide network of 16 branches, employing over 250 dedicated professionals across Ireland.

With more than 25 years of experience in the Irish pharmacy sector, Ade brings a wealth of expertise in business strategy, organizational development, and operational management. She is deeply committed to maintaining the personal touch and sense of community that defines Irish healthcare while incorporating the latest global innovations in the field.

A passionate advocate for improving medication management, Ade has focused much of her work on enhancing patient care through innovative solutions. Most recently, she spearheaded the launch of Digicare, a cutting-edge workflow solution designed to revolutionise medication management and prevent 95% of all errors . Digicare aims to boost safety and efficiency by automating daily tasks, providing real-time feedback, and offering advanced analytics to support better decision-making.

Ade’s forward-thinking approach continues to shape the future of healthcare, blending tradition with technology for the benefit of patients and healthcare professionals alike.

Amy Murphy

Amy Murphy graduated with a Master’s in Pharmacy from The Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. She has extensive experience in community, hospital, and industry pharmacy. Amy has also served as an APPEL preceptor since the program began, contributing to the education and mentoring of future pharmacists. She brings a well-rounded perspective from her diverse career, combining frontline patient care with expertise in the broader healthcare sector.

Breda Heneghan MPSI, B. Sc Pharm, M. Sc Comm. Pharm

Breda is a pharmacy graduate of Trinity College Dublin (TCD) with a Masters in Community Pharmacy from Queen’s University Belfast (QUB). She currently works as a Community Pharmacist in Mullingar.

Throughout her extensive pharmacy career, she successfully engaged with roles across multiple pharmacy sectors including education, regulation, mentoring, quality assurance and every role within community pharmacy. Most recently with the advent of Covid 19 Breda facilitated covid 19 vaccinations both in community pharmacy and the Vaccination centres. She has always embraced the progression of pharmacy services and advocated for the enhancement of the pharmacist role.

Dr. Caitriona Bradley

Dr. Catriona Bradley currently works as the Executive Director of the Irish Institute of Pharmacy. She is a pharmacist, a psychologist, a personal and executive coach, and also holds degrees in law and quality improvement. Over the past 20 years she has held leadership positions in a range of settings including community pharmacy, international retail and healthcare businesses, academia, capability development, and regulation. She is an adjunct associate professor in the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Trinity College Dublin, an External Advisory board member of the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences in RCSI, a member of the Counsellors and Psychotherapists Registration Board of CORU, and an international committee member for the Life Long Learning in Pharmacy International Conference.

Ciarán Rooney

Ciarán Rooney graduated from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen in 2021. After graduating he completed his pre-registration training in Edinburg Royal Infirmary. He then returned to Ireland and began working in community pharmacy as a locum, From 2012 – 2015 Ciarán working in Allcare Pharmacy as a support pharmacist. He then joined the team in haven Pharmacy in 2015 as the supervising pharmacist.

Mr. Dermot  Twomey MPSI

Dermot Twomey graduated with a first class honours degree from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow in 1995. He completed his pre-registration year in a progressive community pharmacy in Glasgow before returning to work In Limerick. In 1997, he purchased a pharmacy in Cloyne, Co Cork. In response to customer demand he explored the opportunity of providing an anticoagulation clinic for patients on warfarin. The clinic, the first community pharmacy based warfarin clinic in Ireland, commenced in early 2010 and has gone from strength to strength since…..

Emily Kelly

Emily Kelly is a pharmacist with board and senior management experience in the pharmacy sector. She obtained her degree in pharmacy from the University of Brighton in 2000 and later earned a Diploma in Corporate Governance. Emily’s career has taken her across Europe, with positions held in Ireland, Italy, Belgium and Germany. Emily is an IIOP peer support pharmacist and mentor. She currently works as a Superintendent and community pharmacist in Dublin and is a consultant to Uniphar retail Services. Emily is a pharmacist appointee to the PSI Council of Ireland and the elected representative for Dublin on the IPU Employee Committee.

Jane Clarke

Jane graduated as a Pharmacy Technician from DIT Cathal Brugha St in 2009. She worked as a technician in community pharmacy until 2016 before roles with the Navi Group and Uniphar Retail Services, along with a year spent working for Unichem Pharmacy in New Zealand. Now part of a fantastic team as Key Account Executive for Accord Healthcare Ireland, covering pharmacies in the North Leinster area.

Maeve Hynes

Maeve Hynes is a pharmacist working in the hospital sector. She graduated from the University of Brighton in 2010. She has experience in both the hospital and community setting with a particular interest in the safe and cost effective procurement of medicines. Her current role in the HSE Access and Integration Drug Management Programme enables hospitals to undertake competitive procurement processes for medicines achieving best value and securing the supply chain.

Dr. Maura Kinahan

Dr. Maura Kinahan is a registered pharmacist who has spent her career to-date in various roles in the pharmaceutical industry (Pharmaceutical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Commercial Operations, Medical Affairs) with Élan, Bristol-Myers Squibb & Pfizer.

Maura is a founding member of Pharmacists in Industry, Education, Regulatory (PIER) which represents the interests of non-patient facing pharmacists, leading on career and mentorship activities.

She holds a pharmacy degree from the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow), Ph.D. from the University of Manchester and is a fellow of BioInnovate Ireland.

Paul Ryan

Paul Ryan works as both a pharmacist and a GP. Paul is the founder of Pharmabuddy.ie, the online resource for over 5,000 Irish pharmacists which was founded in 2016.

Paula Reilly

Paula Reilly is a community pharmacist based in Longford. She graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2006 before completing a masters in community pharmacy. Since then Paula has had a number of roles including supervising pharmacist, Teacher Practitioner and working with the IPU Academy, IIOP and the
IPU executive committee. She is currently a pharmacy owner in Longford town and is optimistic about the future role of the community pharmacist.

Tamasine Grimes

Dr Tamasine Grimes is a practising pharmacist and Associate Professor in Practice of Pharmacy in Trinity College Dublin.  She holds and M.Sc. in Hospital Pharmacy and a PhD in Clinical Pharmacy.  With over 25 years experience in the hospital, community and academic pharmacy settings, Tamasine brings a wealth of expertise in medication management and pharmaceutical care.
